Clean beauty that actually works

The night routine

Two products. Both work while you sleep.

An oil for the body and a cream for the eyes, the two thinnest and most demanding places on you. Neither is a moisturiser, and they are built to be layered rather than chosen between.

Cellu Overnight Firming Oil, 100 ml pump bottle

Step one, the body

Overnight Firming Oil

100 ml · Vitamin C, bakuchiol, rosehip · water free

Ten ingredients, no water at all. That matters more than it sounds: in an anhydrous base, the oil soluble form of vitamin C stays stable instead of oxidising, and it can travel through lipid layers to where the collagen producing cells sit.

It goes on arms, neck, décolletage, chest, stomach, thighs, buttocks and knees, and absorbs in seconds rather than sitting on the skin. Squalane, macadamia and jojoba make it a dry oil, not a greasy one.

Cellu Peptide Firming Eye Cream, 20 ml tube

Step two, the eyes

Peptide Firming Eye Cream

20 ml · Three peptides · caffeine at 2%

The skin around your eyes is the thinnest on your body, which is why a body product is the wrong tool for it and why most eye creams lean on silicones for a smoothness that washes off in the morning.

This one is built on three peptides working through different mechanisms, with actives dosed for the eye area specifically. Caffeine at 2% where most sit below 1%, vitamin C at 3%, niacinamide at 4% and hyaluronic acid at 1%.

  • Brightens dark circles

What is doing the work

Both formulas publish their concentrations. That is the part worth comparing when everything on the shelf claims the same outcome.

Copper Tripeptide-1 (GHK-Cu)

Eye cream

Stimulates collagen and elastin production, to firm the thin skin around the eyes.

Acetyl Hexapeptide-8

Eye cream

Works on the muscle micro contractions behind crow's feet and expression lines.

Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5

Eye cream

Activates the skin's own collagen growth factor, so it produces more on its own.

Caffeine

2% · eye cream

For depuffing. Most eye creams use under 1%; 2% is where the clinical evidence sits.

Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate

Oil

An oil soluble, stable vitamin C that does not oxidise in a water free base and penetrates lipid layers.

Bakuchiol

Oil

A plant retinol alternative. Published trials show comparable firming over 12 weeks without redness, peeling or sun sensitivity.

Rosa Canina seed oil

Oil

Cold pressed rosehip, one of the few botanical oils with published clinical wrinkle depth data.

Triple ceramide complex

Eye cream

Ceramide NP, AP and EOP with cholesterol and phytosphingosine, rebuilding the barrier around the eye.

Why an oil and not a richer cream

Crepey and sagging skin is not dry skin. The collagen and elastin underneath have declined, and that happens faster after 45 and after menopause. A moisturiser adds water to the surface; it feels good and it changes nothing structural.

The oil takes the other route. It delivers firming actives into the barrier at the dose the research uses, then seals them in overnight, which is the whole reason it is a night product and not a lotion you reapply all day.

If dimpling is the main concern Cellu are direct about this: cellulite is fat pressing against connective tissue, and no topical product removes it. What visibly changes is the skin above it. They recommend layering the oil over their Deep Firming Body Cream, which carries caffeine, the ingredient with the most published research on the appearance of dimpling.

The order it goes on

  1. Body cream first, if you use itOn arms, thighs, stomach and knees. Let it absorb.
  2. Then the oil, over the topA few pumps across the same areas. It absorbs in seconds, so there is no long wait before bed.
  3. Eye cream last, on the faceA small amount patted around the eye with your ring finger. Gentle enough for morning and night.

Before you start

Do I need both, or will one do?

They cover different skin. The oil is a body treatment for arms, neck, décolletage, stomach, thighs, buttocks and knees; the eye cream is formulated for the thinnest skin on your body, where a body product would be the wrong tool. Plenty of people start with whichever bothers them more.

Will the oil leave marks on bedding?

It is a dry oil base of squalane, macadamia and jojoba, designed to absorb in seconds rather than sit on the surface. There is no water in the formula at all.

Is there retinol in either?

No. The oil uses bakuchiol, a plant alternative that published trials put alongside retinol for firming without the redness, peeling or sun sensitivity. The eye cream leaves retinol out deliberately as too irritating for the eye area.

Can I use the eye cream in the morning too?

Yes, it is made for daily use morning and night. The oil is the overnight half of the routine.

What if it does not work on my skin?

Both are covered by the 60 day risk free trial: better skin in 60 days or your money back. Individual results vary, which is exactly why that exists.
